Noise and the voice of God
Noisy lives. Sex, drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, perfect body, redefinition of natural law in regards to marriage, unwanted protection for the unborn. Netflix, explicit music, Candy Crush and Call of Duty, social media, tsunamis, bombs, desecration of the Sacred. Gun control, restrictions on pop servings, NSA seems to be breathing down our necks, and yet, society seems to be regressing. "This is what we have to learn right from the beginning, to listen to the voice of God in our hearts, and then in the silence of the heart God speaks. Then from the fullness of our hearts, our mouth will have to speak. That is the connection. In the silence of the heart, God speaks and you have to listen. Then in the fullness of your heart, because it is full of God, full of love, full of compassion, full of faith, your mouth will speak.
"Listen in silence, because if your heart is full of other things you cannot hear the voice of God. But when you have listened to the voice of God in the stillness of your heart, then your heart is filled with God, like our Lady full of grace. And then from the fullness of the heart the mouth will speak."
-Blessed Mother Teresa
Simplify. Direct the use of things towards good and beautiful purposes. Read more. Meditate more. Listen, write, speak when necessary. Be practical, enjoy life. Stray away from society's traps. Do good, and match your actions to your words, and your words to your actions. Be a voice for the voiceless, stay true to what is true. Counsel others, and recognize your flaws unrecognized by you. Learn from experience. Train your brain to use its full capacity, and become knowledgeable. Be both book smart and street smart. Know that peace is not everything being perfect, but accepting what God has given you and allowed to happen to you.
